Exchange 2010 EOL

Webinar recap: Resources to Acquire O365 Customers and Monetize Exchange 2010 EOL webinar

Highlights from our latest webinar with marketing resources to grow your Office 365 business

SkyKick recently hosted a webinar that provided managed service providers (MSPs) an overview of how to capitalize on the Exchange 2010 end of life (EOL) opportunity coming in October 2020. The webinar introduced strategies to acquire new Office 365 customers through a coordinated marketing campaign beginning by leveraging SkyKick’s email migration capabilities, and then helping Partners extend their customer footprint by providing a complementary Cloud Backup solution to protect their Office 365 user data. All the ‘Campaign in a Box’ marketing materials mentioned in the session can be found in the new SkyKick Readiness Hub, briefly covered at the end of the webinar.

5 key takeaways from the webinar

1. MSPs are looking for more marketing and sales support to accelerate their business

Recent research from Channel Futures indicated that the number one factor limiting MSP growth was the lack of marketing. Many SkyKick partners have shared that they simply don’t have enough time or resources (and sometimes marketing know-how) to actively and effectively market their services. Since SkyKick’s core mission is to empower our Partner community in building successful cloud businesses, you can be sure we’re on that task. Keep reading to find out how.

“What we really needed from SkyKick is help with marketing. Having this kind of support would really help us accelerate our business.”

– Sean McGree, Nortec

2. Exchange 2010 EOL is a timely opportunity for partners to win new Office 365 business with customers

Microsoft is formally ending support for Exchange 2010 in October 2020. SMBs who don’t migrate to newer Microsoft 365 product offerings will be at a significant security risk as they will no longer be receiving security updates and bug fixes. And, since other Microsoft products such as Windows 7 and Server 2008 are also nearing end of life in 2020, making this a perfect time to start discussions with customers about next steps. And though October may seem far off – Partners that act now ahead of the deadline will be best positioned to capitalize on the opportunity.

3. SkyKick is making it easy to kick-start Exchange 2010 EOL marketing efforts with a ‘Campaign in a Box’ for partners

To help partners acquire and move more customers to Office 365, SkyKick has created a curated collection of ready-to-use Exchange 2010 EOL migration marketing resources. You can use these new marketing resources to help educate customers about why they need to move off Exchange 2010 – and how your IT practice can help them – beginning with a seamless migration to Office 365. Included are a downloadable to-customer infographic, campaign flyer, social ad and email templates and a pitch deck. These complement the existing resources available such as the Free Discovery Services and Planner and the Microsoft ROI calculator.

4. Partners should also pursue a complementary Cloud Backup marketing campaign to drive recurring revenue and expand their Office 365 business

Moving customers to the Office 365 cloud is but a first step in the journey. Partners should also consider offering customers additional value by providing them with a data protection solution such as SkyKick Cloud Backup. To help partners educate customers about the benefits of a Cloud Backup solution, SkyKick has assembled a comprehensive set of marketing assets to help partners more efficiently identify, target, and pitch customers for this service.

5. The new SkyKick Readiness Hub is the go-to resource for partners to access these marketing ‘Campaign in a Box’ assets

Available to all registered SkyKick partners for free, the new Readiness Hub is your launching ground for exploring all the resources for partners to help build and expand their cloud practice. Much of the marketing campaign content mentioned above can be customized with partner logos, contact information and calls to action. In addition, partners can also access tools to assess their cloud practice and learn industry best practices.
