Introducing Cloud Security for M365

Among many big milestones for SkyKick, (being acquired by ConnectWise chief among them), today represents another important milestone for M365 security management.

Back in 2022, SkyKick launched Security Manager, a partner-centric way to administer security across all managed Microsoft 365 tenants. Since then, we’ve continued to grow the feature set to include a rich set of reports and workflows that offer cross-customer insights and remediations for all security alerts and recommendations that improve security posture and the Secure Score. We even extended our footprint to support the range of industry security baseline frameworks from organizations like CIS, NIST, ISO, HIPAA and others.

When we launched Security Manager – and later Security Navigator – they were technically add-ons to Cloud Manager, our universal platform for administering cloud applications. Today, we are excited to announce that M365 security has a new home inside the SkyKick Partner Portal. It’s called Cloud Security for M365.

Alongside Migrations, Cloud Backup, and Cloud Manager, the new Cloud Security menu option offers a purpose-built navigation structure designed to speed your path to key security insights and solutions. All the features you’re familiar with, ranging from managing customer connections, monitor & schedule, customization tools like Command Designer and Command Editor, are all available inside the new navigation. Of course, so are Navigator and Manager. What’s more, Cloud Security also features new contextual action cards designed to direct you towards key steps in your use of the product.  New subscribers will see action cards guiding them to activate customer M365 connections and run their first reports. More mature users are prompted to review MFA configuration issues, remedy missing Conditional Access Policies, or activate security monitoring using Scheduler.

These cards are most visible on the new Cloud Security Overview page, but will also appear elsewhere in the application, contextually aiding your use of the application.

For those with a Security Manager subscription plan, you’ll continue to have full access to the features of Cloud Security. Cloud Manager subscribers will continue to have access to Cloud Security through the end of the year and will see the older, legacy Security Manager and Security Navigator menu options disappear in the coming weeks (which Cloud Security now makes obsolete.)

Our vision of Cloud Security was informed by the great feedback we get from subscribers. As always, feel free to use the Community Forum to let us know what you think of the new Cloud Security experience.
